Accessibility
Respecting everyone is also a matter of code.
The target
We take WCAG 2.1, level AA is the working reference. What follows is what is already done, and whatever is not, you tell us.
What is already done
8 measures
Eight decisions, every one of them checkable on this page.
- 01 One main heading per page, with the hierarchy in order
- 02 Measured contrast: no text below 4.5 to 1
- 03 Visible focus on everything the keyboard can reach
- 04 Anyone who asks for less motion gets the page still and complete
- 05 Touch targets of 44 pixels, measured from 320 to 1920 wide
- 06 Alternative text on every image that informs, and empty on every image that decorates
- 07 The logo ribbon carries the same names in text, right below it
- 08 With no script at all, the page stays complete and navigable
Motion
Motion here is an invitation, never a condition.
The page has scroll reveals, ribbons that run and a bar that follows your reading. None of it is needed to read the content: anyone who turns on reduce motion in the operating system gets the whole page, still, without losing a word.
The same decision holds when the browser runs no scripts, or when they never arrive: the content is born visible, and no information depends on an animation to appear.
